This is one of those cases I'd recommend going to www.simbenefit.com. I've never seen anything as serious as you desribe, but once in a while a casino pulls a questionable stunt. For those cases, I go to the website just mentioned and run a simulation that basically checks the long run effect. Most of the time the casino still ends up with an advantage, but one time I did catch them with the advantage on my side :) ... Did't make a fortune, but can't complain with winnings.
