There is a reason behind abbreviations in the main chart not all showing as all capital letters. It is a historical reason, but you are right -- most abbreviations should be in all caps. I believe I have all abbreviations as shown in the dictionary portion in all capital letters. |
You make a good point. I may change the abbreviation chart to show all cap letters for most abbreviations. |
The historical reason for the abbreviations being in lower case is because it takes less space then the same abbreviation in all caps. The Blackjack Review conditions charts in my former quarterly newsletter and Wong's Current Blackjack News are two examples of the use of lower case abbreviations. Lower case abbreviations were used because they took up less space on the paper. Also, you will notice the use of lower case letters in the BJRnet rules charts for this same reason. |
