Something that's somewhat related to this is the so-called "bunching factor": this is the fact that if everyone (except, say, the button) folds in Hold'em, and you are one of the players left, the chance that you will have one or more high cards in your hand goes up. This is because the players who folded probably had small cards. This means that you can't expect the blinds to have random cards if you are the button and vice versa. This has been covered in the forum of the twoplustwo.com page; the impact of it is limited but in marginal situations you should fold more often in the blinds and raise less often on the button than what might seem correct if you presume that your opponent has cards taken from a random deck. |
