Last time I was in Elko was about 15 years ago. They basically had 2 casinos of any size, neither a big brand name. Both had a few blackjack tables, but mostly slots and video poker. Of course 15 years is a long time in casino years. The Las Vegas strip damn near doubled in size in that time.


I recommend checking your ads for special deals to Laughlin. Laughlin has 7 or 8 casinos, but they are all of the type you'd find in Reno. I prefer Laughlin to anywhere except Vegas. If you going during the weekday you can get great 2 or 3 day packages for ridiculously low rates. Last time I was there I had a Deluxe room at the Ramada Express for $18 per night. Plus you can rent a car and make a day trip down to Lake Havasu to see the London bridge and village, or out to Oatman,AZ, and old mining town with wild burros who wander the streets. As far as I know, there is nothing to see around Elko.
