foremost is the tsunami devastation. two flights of carrion crows are circling. those with wings and beaks and those with pencils. seems that since the poke has crossed a billion or so, the commissionaires are haggling over the purse strings. with a few more layers of administrators, i wonder how much of the cash will trickle down to the guy with an empty stomache. |
"wong" has crafted a thin manual describing "advantage" dice releases. this idea has been around for at least 10 years that i've seen. the bickering on other sites is amusing. obviously biased comments by several "authorities" indicate amazing attitudes from those who would otherwise boast of some pragmatism when "attacking" the most mathematical, 21 game. |
lots of changes to the 21 games in town. (clark county, nv). the obvious 6:5 snapper payout game seems to be spreading. worse for all players, "advantaged" or "ploppy", is the re-release of a player tracking system. the current one, not the first, will prevent "overcomping", likely the only legal tool of the ploppy to minimize his losses. |
the nevada joints are planting shade trees for their competition. usta be that nevada offered the best deals on honest gambling, almost free food, cheap rooms, lots of free (lounge acts for instance) entertainment, and "low odds" (small player disadvantage) games. what's changed ? the games are obviously "tighter" (a casino industry term). comps are seriously diminished. food deals are disappearing in favor of high end, $50/plate venues. major shows of significance are commonly over $100/ticket. rooms are still fairly priced relative to free-standing independents, but not by much. there's only so much "draw" from hype. |
