a few of the "authorities". the issue of hit/stand with a three or more card 16 reduces to the "count". obviously multiple card hands consisting of "small" cards would affect the count, thus affecting the playing decision on those "neutral" hands... 16 vs 10, 13 vs 2, 12 vs 3, as examples.
excepting in extremely rare instances, basic strategy play alone, is a negative expectation game. learn a simple count to gain at least a small edge.
