The Casino of the Wind at Mohegan Sun is very nice; even nicer than the MGM at Foxwoods which I have been crowing about since May 2008. The blackjack tables are arranged vertically/linearly with 7, 4 and 6 table pits in that order as you enter the casino. There is also craps and roulette.
Surrounding the tables and slot machines are restaurants and shops like the MGM has, including Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, which is an excellent restaurant and cocktail lounge. Much nicer than the one in Key West, Fl.
The tables were all six decks with mostly $10 minimums with $1000 maximums, with a few $15's and one or two $25 and/or $50 minimums.
There is more freedom to walk with a cocktail to the cashier's cage and the rest rooms unlike the MGM.
There is a bar in between the blackjack tables and the poker room with five very nice villa type seating areas where one can take a break with or without a cocktail.
I like it even better than the MGM at Foxwoods which I have raved about.
The new Mohegan Sun poker room is convenient to get to at the far end of the Wind Casino. It is good size with 42 poker tables, well spaced compared to the old poker room which had 36 tightly spaced tables. The poker chairs are excellent and special chairs and are very comfortable. There is a good sized cage and a small restroom enclosed in the poker room. The room will eventually be enclosed in glass.
