My apologies in advance for any inconvenience caused by this Mailing. For those of you who didn't receive my first letter, Welcome to my Newsletter, "The gamblers choice." Since I haven't a whole lot else to do with my time, I thought I'd rattle some cages out there in Casinoland. I'll be dealing with topics randomly, like the outcome of most of those casino games. ***************************************************************************** I invite you to read my classic "Poker Story" at; http://www.netcore.ca/~billk/flush.html You wont believe it! ***************************************************************************** Memories of Sinatra at the Sands..Experiences of a Pit Boss. Contributed by; Ed Walters ************************** My main memory of him is that when ever he sang or spoke or did something he made an impresssion. Many times a lasting impression. In early 60's I was in the 21 pit. I was around 30 years old, Frank about 50 or 52. In the afternoons we would not have alot of buisness in the casino. Now in Vegas there are thousand of rooms. Back then we would have very little action in the afternoon. I'm in the pit talking with some other guys about stuff in the newspapers about kids burning the american flag. Sinatra is coming in with some others and is rounding the pit. I don't see him. He must have heard me. I yell back to the other guys "It's only a flag, let them burn it" I'm walking away and I see Frank and he see's me. He starts walking over to me. I come toward him. He moves in between two 21 tables and says. "Eddie, It's not just a flag" He is very serious, a bit angry. "It's our flag" "It's our country" Now not angry, but very serious. "A lot of guys died for that flag" I heard him, I understood him, I felt him. In all my years since I don't think I made another stupid and careless remark about my country. At least I hope not. Yes he does make an impression. Virtual Casinos *************** Since off shore virtual Casinos are gaining in popularity it might be appropriate to tackle this topic. The question of honesty, fair treatment and games being rigged is one that many are asking. The short answer to the question is, I don't think so. Look at it this way, would you go through all the trouble of setting up an off shore internet Casino at a cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars so that you could cheat your players? I wouldn't and I don't believe anyone else would either, call me naive, but that's my take. Imagine, if you will, word getting out on the internet that Casino "A" has rigged games. Casino "A" would get an instant reputation that would spread through the Web like a virus. Players would avoid them like poison and they'd soon be a bad memory. On-line Casinos are trying desperately to build a following and they have only two things to offer. One is the games and the other is their honesty. With the competition becoming more fierce by the minute they just can't afford to deal with clients in anything but a forthtight manner. So relax and don't be such a worrier, what's a few bucks anway? How do on line casinos interface with me? ***************************************** On line casinos are like any other business especially the Casino business. First you establish a credit either with a credit card or some other financial docuement, money order, certified cheque or bank draft. The quickest, of course is a credit card, the others require snail mail to deliver and that can be slow. Once credit is established you will be provided with an access code which will allow you to draw units for play and you can begin to gamble immediately. All transactions are tracked by the Casino and you credit balance is available to you at all times. When you win the value of your winnings is credited to your account and made available to you for withdrawl to play or withdrawl to cash in. When cashing in, you credits are applied to your credit card debit and the excess amount is sent to you by check form in the mail, unless other arrangements are made with the Casino. Where deposits were initialy made by other means, check, money order etc. The entire amount wll be mailed on request. In some cases a small charge is levied for this service. You must realize these Virtual Casinos are off shore and the mails are not what you would hope for. I waited almost three weeks for a check. Interactive Web TV ****************** One of the newer technological advances coming at us is interactive Web TV. Just another toy that will grow at a dizzying rate. For those who cannot afford a PC, Web tv is perfect. Philips Magnavox are currently selling this technology for 199.95 without keyboard and 69.99 for a wireless keyboard. Plus shipping & handling and applicable sales tax. At the time I cheked them out they were out of stock, Must be a real "hot" item. Apparently the unit can be hooked into your TV set and your phone line with some pretty neat features. If your on line and a call comes in on your phone line it will allow you to answer your phone and reconnect when you have fonished your call. It would seem that this technology will put the internet within reach of almost everyone. Since our main focus is gambling our concern with Web tv is how it will interface with on line casinos. We are still workink on developing the expertise in this area and will pass it along as soon as it becomes available. On-line Home gambling networks are being put together as I write, to answer the demand building out there in Cyberspace. I get letters every week asking about this new technology, sorry to say my information is limited at the moment but we are working at expanding our knowledge on the subject and will update you as best we can in the future. My information to date suggests that Web TV on line gaming will be much the same as it is done on your PC. Betting systems, How to win at ?? ********************************* Systems for betting horses, or any other gambling you can imagine, have been around for many years and a lot of money has been made from the sale of books, letters and pamphlets on the subject. Like the new TV show , "Everybody loves Raymond" everybody has a system they will share with you for X number of pesos. You buy the information, try to digest it and then you run to the nearest gambling emporium to try it out and find it really doesn't work. This is not to say that there are no ways of playing a game of chance that will give you a better than average shot at winning, because there are techniques and ways of playing that will improve your chances. But there are no systems that will make you a sure and consistent winner. Let me qualify that statement, no system that I know of. Most of us gamble to have fun, a little diversion from the cares and worries of every day life. A little slots a little black jack, win a bit lose a bit, sometimes a lot but always with the intention of having fun and maybe, just maybe, getting a good hit on the slots or a winning streak at the tables. The anticipation itself is somewhat uplifting and when a hit is made it's just a great feeling. Gambling should be fun but if you're looking for a suystem that will make you a consistent winner this letter will not help you. Frankly if I had a consistently winning system I'm not sure I'd want to share it. I'm a mean bugger. Now for the commercial, You can visit my Web site for more information or for access to on line Casinos at: http://www.netcore.ca/~billk/vegas_casino.html New report on slots ***************** NEW report reveals how slot machines work, which slot machines pay better, where to get help for compulsive gambling, how slot machine winnings are taxed, plus more.
