Greetings to all you gamblers, it's my pleasure to send you yet another news letter from the front lines. My last Casino visit was to the Soaring Eagle in Michigan and my review is enclosed. I was playing roulette in my usual fashion, surrounding number 26, as you might expect I lost the first three bets and before the next game started I was paged for a meeting with the PR Manager, After my meeting with her I returned to the Roulette table to find my number 26 had come up the moment I left the table. Go figure. -:) ************* The Gamblers Choice News letter Vol.1 issue 5 Casino review; The Soaring Eagle in Mt. Pleasant Michigan ********************************************************* One of Michigan's finest Native American Casinos with a world class look, the Soaring Eagle, is located on the Eastern outskirts of Mt. Pleasant where it can be seen from a distance as something out of the ordinary and even out of place and time. One would hardly expect such a magnificent Casino in this place. It rivals the standard of many Las Vegas casinos and it surpasses any in the Michigan area. A large outdoor parking lot accommodates any number of vehicles as well as acres of outdoor parking, with security roamimg the lot at all times to ensure your safety. A large 518 room hotel is under construction and although not yet completed, it will opening in the summer of 1998 and promises to be a world class hotel. You can self park or take advantage of Valet parking in front of the Casino. Approaching the front doors you can feel the excitement and hear the action the moment you enter the large open lobby. You can survey the entire 212,000 square feet consisting of 4,000 slots with 76 black jack tables, 4 newly added crap tables as well as 4 Roulette tables in the casino pit just a few steps below. High ceilings make it relatively smoke free a truly pleasant atmosphere. The slot machines stretch out to the farthest reaches of the Casino, with all denominations being represented from nickles to $5.00 and higher. The staff, dealers and change personell are friendly and courteous to help make your stay more enjoyable. The slots are reasonably loose and give you good action for your money. Actually I have found the slots at the Soaring Eagle to be as generous as any I have played. My personal experiences have been pleasant and action oriented. For those who like a more subdued kind of action, the Soaring Eagle features a 2,500 seat Bingo hall left of the casino as you enter. An interesting buffet is also available for the buffet gourmet. Another newly added feature is an elegant coffee shop with ample varieties on the menu. All in all the Soaring Eagle will rovide an enjoyable gambling experience that is as good as it gets. The Soaring Eagle can be accessed from I-75 West on #10 to Mt Pleasant, we wish you the very best of luck on your visit. Note: The writer is in no way connected with the Soaring Eagle Casino, his review, observations, comments and opinions are from his own private experiences. ********* The real lowdown on those loose slots ************************************* I have always been pretty sure about how the modern slots work but now I have had my suspicions confirmed by an expert. Just a couple of quick points about slots in general and loose slots in particular. Payouts on slots are governed by the RNG, random number geberator, this little electronic guy/gal (for the politically correct out there) is spinning constantly and stops to make an outcome selection each time a coin is inserted into the machine. Coin 1 = outcome 1, coin 2 = outcome 2 and so on. The last coin inserted is the one that determines the final outcome as to where the RNG will stop and subsequently what will appear in the window on the reels. I have stated on many occasions that loose slots are a bit of an overrated and titillating idea. Where are those loose slots, more to the point what is a loose slot? A loose slot is different things to different people, if you had a good win at a slot you may say you had a loose slot but more likely you simply has a slot that was in a pay cycle. If a slot paid out a lot of little wins you may say you had a loose slot but it was just set up to make a lot of small payouts. The end result in both cases being that if you played long enough you would be relieved of your gambling allotment. My final thought on slots is always the same, have fun and if you win its a bonus. On line Casinos, how reliable are they? *********************************** Like land based casinos, on line casinos are growing beyond our imagination. One Company alone has launched 25 Casinos onto the internet, added to the untold number we already have gives the total quite a bump. The market would seem to be unlimited as more and more gamblers get on the internet and crave action. Like land based casinos there will most certainly be some seedy operators with less than highly idealistic business ethics and the gambling public should be alert to these operations. The online operators that I have been in personal contact with are in the business for the long haul and have set a high operating standard for themselves which reflects itself in the treatment of their clients. For the most part on line gambling is an exciting and entertaining activity but like most things moderation is the key. >From a Web TV user ***************** Thanks for the latest newsletter! Web tv is a really great way to enjoy the internet for those of us that don't need or can't afford a computer. The standard web tv costs $199.95 and most retailers offer a $100.00 rebate. An optional wireless keyboard can be purchased for $69.00. The new web tv plus runs about $300.00 and and has many new capabiities that the original does not. I hope you find this info useful and thanks again for the newsletter. Editor..I'm sure some of our readers will find this information helpfull especially if you're thinking about buying in to Web TV. Five Deck Frenzy the latest Vegas Craze. *************************************** FDF the newest game to hit vegas and it threatens to replace video poker. Its a video poker game played with, you guessed it, five decks. Now this sounds a bit complicated, five deck video poker, well the five decks are assigned one to each of the five cards which makes it possible to have, not only 5 aces but 5 spade aces, the "jackpot hand". One card one deck. you can see where the possible variations of hands is almost limitless. The game sounds complicated but its not that different from regular video poker except that there are many more possible ways to win. You still get five cards dealt and then decide what to hold and what to fold before you draw your next cards. If you play video poker now you'll probably have no difficulty with Five Deck Frenzy. What stikes me is the fact that the game was not launched at the bigger clubs like Caesars, Ballys and MGM Grand but rather at the some smaller off the strip clubs like the Fiesta, Palace station, Santa Fe, Showboat and the Gold strike to mention but a few. But then again I guess the bigger clubs want some successfull feed back befor they buy in. Apparently the game will soon be featured at Treasure island and the Flamingo Hilton. One thing can be said for Las Vegas, There's always something new coming down the road. A word from Captain Spencer of the River Belle ********************************************** It was another big week on board The River Belle for Sean S. (last week's big winner also). Sean had a bit of a slow spell at the start of the week, but as of right now he's got us wondering exactly how he does it! Here's a brief summary of Sean's exploits this week: - Over the week, Sean's Blackjack profits have totaled over $5,000! - On Wednesday, Sean hit a run on Roulette that resulted in a cash-in of $13,000! This run included four spins in a row in which he won over $1,000 per spin, including two which paid $2,700 each! Last night, Sean's Roulette adventures continued, with another bunch of spins paying in excess of $1,000 each. To top it off, Sean hit Double Magic with a vengeance, hitting four $1,000 jackpots and *TWO* $4,000 jackpots which were barely an hour apart!
