Re: side counts

Dear Hopper,

Gotcha. This is precisely the problem with which I am wrestling. It seems that the entire method of correlation to Griffin's removal effects, which are commonly cited by authors in evaluating the playing strength of their systems, break down when applied to side counts included in the primary count.

Simulations on the MPUBE show the Hi-Opt II w/ sides A,5,6,7,8,9 to be superior to the Gordon w/ all zero valued cards counted on the side.

I suspect that the fully loaded Gordon will have a higher correlation. I am eagerly awaiting a reply from R. Reid on this on his Mathematics of Blackjack page.
