Re: Uston APC PE

My research has gone far beyond what has been published. Many of the variations of the counts listed here have not been presented in the form I have examined. If you look at the list of level one counts I just put up a little while ago, you'll see that the Uston Plus/Minus could have a very high PE with an ace side count, but that was not mentioned at all in his book. You can generate the indices with SBA or UBE Pro, if you have either of those programs.

Here's an example of one of the problems with using the Uston APC as a multiparameter count. Let's say you want to take insurance. Do you count the ace as +1 or +2? You want to count it as +1 1/2, but that's more trouble than it's worth, so you have to choose one or the other. With Hi-Opt II or Omega II you can just count it as +1 and come very close to the optimal value.

Problems like this come up with quite a few of the plays. This system is just to complex to be of much use for multiparameter adjustments. It is better to start with a very simple level one or two count, such as Hi-Opt I or II. If you are really interested in multiparameter systems, I will be coming out with two later this year. If you just want to add ace adjustments to your Uston APC, get one of the programs mentioned or ask a friend who has them to run the ace adjustments for you.
