About the Over/Under Count

Posted by T-Hopper on 25 March 1998, at 3:08 a.m., in response to Another Level One System: The Over/Under Count, posted by T-Hopper on 25 March 1998, at 3:00 a.m.

This system is designed for the side bet called Over/Under, which allows the player to bet that his first two cards will total either under 13 or over 13, with the ace always counting as 1. The house has an edge off the top on either bet because the player loses if the hand totals exactly 13. I recommend using this as the primary count wherever this rule is offered and keeping the secondary count 5,6 +1 A -2 to get High-Low as the final count for betting and most playing decisions. Bets can then be made based on the combined advantage of the blackjack hand and the Over/Under bet, if one is indicated.
