unbalanced counts

Posted by slightly experienced card counter on 9 May 1998, at 7:13 p.m.

I'm sorry to ask such a simple question, but I've learned how to count using Uston's MDBJ and some other older sources so I'm unsure about how an unbalanced count works. I've gathered that no true count is necessary but I'm not sure how this is possible. I really don't hear anything about unbalanced counts anywhere but on this page (I regularly read Wong's pages, Reid's pages, and some others). I'm curios as to how the true count can be avoided and how it stacks up against other (balanced)systems, especially high/low. I've logged about 60 hours of play with high low(and been lucky, winning over 200 units). I usually play 2 deck and sometimes 4 deck so if you could gear your answer to these games I'd really appreciate it. Thanks for taking the time to help me out.
