Great Idea, Flawed Execution

Let me get this straight.
Your primary(playing) count is 2-4, 6 +1 10 -1
and you use a secondary count of
5 +1 A -1
which is added to the primary count for betting.
First of all, congratulations for discovering the secondary count principle on your own, even if you didn't apply it in the best possible way.
If this is how you count, then you are hurting your playing efficiency by excluding the 5s from your playing count. Use aces vs. deuces instead. This will give you what is known as th Hi-Opt I/High-Low combined count. The point count values for Hi-Opt I are 3-6 +1 10 -1.
7 is the median of the 13 ranks if the ace is counted as 0, but as you are probably thinking, so what? You can't think about those kind of things when you are playing, you must simply follow the strategy you memorized before playing and never deviate.
