Why both use similar counts?

If you always play at the same table, then one of you should use a count that is good for playing the hands, and the other one should use a count that is good for making bets. See other posts on this page for some sample combinations. This is not as good as playing at different tables, but it does increase your advantage if done correctly. One example is to use Hi-Opt I(3-6 +1 10 -1) for playing and High-Low(2-6 +1, 10,A -1) for betting.
