Beat the Dealer by Dr Thorp. As I'm sure you know, the 5's count was the 1st of his strategys(it just took too long waiting for favorable circumstances) In the original sims done the 5's were proved to be the most influential cards in the deck when playing basic stategy. Which is why when you have a good 10 count and the dealer shows a 5 or 6 your play should be influenced to some degree by the amount of 5's left in the deck along with the running count. Not to mention your read of the betting situation. And by being able to switch between different counts it helps with cover. I'm sorry I got carried away with this, but after a number of years playing and practicing I'm still just trying to learn everything I can. thanks for any and all help.
