Re: PeteMoss I - PE, advantage?

1. I use the K-O count, with true-count conversion, for the decisions indicated. I generated the indices myself, with the goal of being "Kelly correct".

2. I don't know the answers to those questions, because I don't put any stock in either "PE" or "EV". I judge the efficacy of a system by a measure that combines advantage and risk. It is equivalent to Don Schesinger's "desirability index", assuming optimal betting strategy.

3. See the above answer. I don't use "BC" to evaluate a system either. I simulate and use the measure I spoke of above. The only thing I used a correlation coefficient for was for deciding which count to use for which playing decisions. I used the effects of removal numbers from Griffin, pp 74-85, and chose the count (main or secondary) best correlated with them.

I have tried to come up with the best system I think I am capable of using at the table. I don't give any thought to how much effort is required to learn it, or how much practice is necessary. Blackjack is a tough game to beat, and I want to be as well prepared as I can possibly be.

I know these answers didn't help much, but they are honest.
