I haven't done extensive simulations, but it seems to me that having a +4 pivot instead of +2 is preferable for betting efficiency if the bets are sized in proportion to the advantage, since the average squared error of the running vs. true count would be less in the range between the minimum and maximum bet. Also, the lower pivot systems will have a higher flat bet and small spread PE but the higher pivot systems catch up in this area as well with a higher spread.
