Re: Any UBZII counters out there?

Grinch,
See my reply to you on Snyder's board.
I have the Brh-II running count system for single deck ready right now, and Brh-I running count system for all decks.
I believe it is possible to use running count Brh-II in any number of decks if the secondary count is used, but the ace-subtraction method will only work in single deck. Strictly speaking, these two methods are all you can do in a pure running count system with no knowledge of how many decks remain.
However, if instead a traditional ace-side count is done, which estimates ace-richness or ace-poorness of the remaining deck, then I believe the ace-corrected running Brh-II will also be fine in any number of decks, and my actually be competitive with true Brh-I in shoes. I am unable to simulate this combination with SBA, but with some help from Karel, I will be able to soon.
The only problem with this is that technically you need to be able to estimate remaining decks to calculate the number of aces which 'should' remain', which kind of defeats the purpose of using a running count system.
If the ace-side count methodoloogy is changed, so that we have what I call 'continuous correction', it may make the process easier. Basically, (for Brh-II) the ace-side count is started at zero, and -2 is counted for every ace seen. At the same time, every time a quarter deck is dealt, +2 is added to the side count. This counts the number of aces which 'should' have been dealt.
If the ace-side count is done this way, there is no extra multipication to do. Even if the ace-side count is done the traditional way, one multiplication by decks_remaining, is still much easier than a true count division.
My full booklet won't be ready for about a month, but email me and we may be able to do something right away.
Cheers,
Brett.
