Thanks, T, for your complete response. You nailed it! What I read in your post made your system sound like an easy switch from the Uston +/-. Will it win more? Furhter, I do play single deck exclusivly. Swithcing to DD greatly reduces win rate. When I have won, it's been on a streak, usually attributed to luck. Shoes? forget it! I might as well play at my neighborhood Indian casino, paying 25 cents/hand to play!
I've never been bold enough to attack the shoes in LV as they've pretty much beat me down any time I've tried to. I enjoy the big swings of the single deck and it seems to me I have a better chance of winning when there are more +6,7 & 9 decks more often. Playing the shoe (usually) offers fewer chances to bet when I have an edge. Based on my experience, it would be a real grind to make any money at all.
I'll be playing downtown this weekend, but I'm anxious to try the slots-o-fun this trip. Used to win there back in the mid 80's. Based on posts I've seen since my recent discovery of these BJ websites, sounds like there's a good game there. Have played downtown exclusively since about 1988.
There's nothing like walking through the BJ areas of a crowded single deck casino with my lady, spotting a +8 count off the top, plopping a pile of chips in the sqaure, then walking away with enough to pay for dinner and drinks that evening.
Last trip we did this four times. In four hands we lost once, but had enough for a very nice dinner after which we retired to the tables (the slots for her) where I ground another few hundred bucks out of them with lower bets and the uston +/- with a 1-4 spread. Retiring at around 3:30am, we rose in time for checkout, brunching at the Fitz (not recommended). I sat down to play with the locals at the low limit tables where I doubled my session bankroll before leaving town in the mid-afternoon.
It's a life I love, would the T-hop systems improve it? It sounds as if they would. I'd like to know. Thanks again.
Moe
