How to Bet - The Ideal Way

The ideal would be to use a matrix of (a, b) to bet according to the known exact EV and Var for subsets of that size and count. However, it would take many billions of hands to get meaningful data for all subsets in most games, and the matrix would be much too complex to be used in actual play without errors. However, there are ways to approximate this matrix that lead to a greater betting efficiency than can be achieved by either the true count or the running count.
