If I understand you correctly, you're saying that we should have more respect for the authors of blackjack systems, instead of using their systems under our names, without changing much but just using some new indices. If my understanding is correct, then we agree, absolutely. (Of course, generating more precise index tables than those in the old books, is now easier and routinely done, due to software like SBA. And it should be encouraged.)

If, however, on top of that, you mean that the tags of a counting system can somehow be copyrighted, then we disagree. I believe that this is un-enforceable. I also wrote that nomenclature (=history) will decide whether to call HiLo as Dubner's HiLo or Wong's HiLo. (Check the relevant discussion on, also.)
