For some new players especially in AC style games it is not WHAT (the ounting system) but HOW you count that is important.

Some beginners find it much easier to sit in 1st base, count their 2 cards and the dealer's upcard, make their play, then count the rest of the hands. You can 'audible' the other player blackjack's and deduct from your running count without looking. After you do this in the casino perfectly then start moving to the left soon you will end up counting easily from third base or anywhere. Give it a try and see if it helps with 'real live games'.

If you can count the fast AC dealers you will have no trouble with the slow face down vegas game.
