Sorry to but in. But it pains me for you to lead this well meaning gentleman- an electrical engineer - in the wrong path.

Need more $? You seem to be leading this young man into a lot of trouble. IMO, the elaborate sophistication explained under "The Kelly..." given does not change an iota the reality that Victor will be taking part in a game of chance even with bigger BR. Where will that BR will come from? Credit cards? Mortgage on the house? Where? You keep advising him in a way that you mean to make his chances of winning a certainty...

Did you know that a larger BR is no guarantee of winning in bj? Actually it is much worse than betting what one can only afford to lose! The same truth is also applicable in the stock market. Small money can lose what small is and big money is no different!

Only the naive think than they can win in bj if they have a bigger BR. The problems are elsewhere and things are not as simple as increasing ones's BR. If that was true, all rich people would be easily making money as they can afford big BR's! Yes, it makes some sense to have adequate BR... but talk of $75,000 or more strikes me as a bit unadvisable if not irresponsible. AGREE that it makes sense to advise to have a reasonable BR but talk of that kind of sums is highly questionable on moral grounds. This is not a question of science or math! We're talking about GAMBLING! Do you think it is responsible to advise him to jump into the man who sounds quite naive and uninformed to me. What do you say?
