Re: My advice (FWIW)

Ok, I'm suffering some serious fluctuations in my returns, and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. I've been practicing and training myself for about 6 months now, and I consider myself to be a very apt counter (can count down a deck in under 20 seconds, under 15 if I'm warmed up well), but I lack the experience that many of you have. So as you saw before, I had a bad weekend and went from $6000 to $3000... and since then my bankroll has gone up to $9000 and then back down to $2000... I'm finding the ups and downs very frustrating, and although I'm making money in the long run, I'm wondering if this is usual, or if I'm doing something wrong. Here's what I do:
I go to Atlantic City (I know, I know, but I don't have the time off from work to go to Vegas), and either go to the 6 deck $25 tables, or the $10 8 deck tables
I use the hi-low count, and if I have a slow dealer, I try to keep an ace side count.

The problems I'm having are that sometimes I have an unbelievably high count, and so my bet goes up accordingly, and sometimes, even with a true count of +4 and higher, sometimes I'll still lose those last 8 hands in a shoe--extremely frustrating, and has happened to me three times now (and has been devastating to my bankroll)--and that doesn't count the other times where I'll lose 6 out of the last 8 hands with true counts of +2 or more....

I guess what I'm saying here is that I guess I'm starting to lose faith in the numbers and believe there's something to the "bunching" theories people toss around here occasionally...
Any thoughts?
