Sorry, didn't read your whole post...

I just read the name "New Counter" and posted one of my standard replies. I assumed that you hadn't tried any counts and had just picked up the Revere book. I've been counting for 5 years and think KO is great for 1-2 deck games as I don't personally play any shoe games.

Over the last year, I've come to the conclusion that, at least for me, the simplicity of the count is far more important than the accuracy. I use to play 3,4,5,6:+1, 10:-1 and side count Aces and 7s. Using KO on my last LV trip (3/23-28), I was able to play 1000 hands per day with no mental fatigue and fewer mental errors. I am now trying to fine tune other things.

I look for sloppy dealers, better penetration, and am trying to find a good act. Finding a dealer that will deal an extra hand increases my expectation more than any count would. Of course, for your AC shoe game, I suppose the count is the only thing that really matters.

Good luck.
