Recommendations please..

I want to work on some ideas for ROR and proportionate betting with a count I am tinkering with, and am curious about programs to run sims and practice with.
I want to be able to adjust all the variables myself rather than go with the some limited choices provided by a software manufacturer.
I want to be able to input a customized count, house rules, and approximate penetration, and bankroll size, in order to calulate my Risk, EV and optimal bet sizes.
What software is recommended?
I am leaning towards Casino Verite, based on what I've heard from a couple of people. I have also heard it has an intreresting option to practice a bit under these specified conditions. (No, this is NOT an ad, I just an honest query.)
What else is out there, and how does it compare?
I don't know much about SBA, but bet a lot of folks out there do.
