Playing blackjack for a living

I would think most pros would tell you that it is "very difficult" to make a consistent good living playing nothing but blackjack. I definitedly would consider diversifying your talents into other areas that interest you. Many pros also play poker and use their talents in other gambling ventures including investing in the stock market. In any case, it takes a very special person who can handle the trials and tribulations of professional gambling.

The only reason I say this is not that you can't make good money playing blackjack -- you can! The difficulty comes in when you start to overplay your welcome in specific casinos or regions. You then have to start moving around to play, disguising your appearance and style of play, and forcing you to live a very lonely life.

This is a decision you will have to make. Personally, I would much rather play blackjack recreationally and have the reassurance of a steady income and a bit of stability in my life. My style of play keeps playing blackjack exciting and rewarding -- rather then just another job I have to go to in the morning.
