I totally agree with you. Tipping the dealers is a pretty costly practice on the long run. Therefore I never tip dealers upfront. They have to prove themselves first by having a favorable attitude and mood. To me tipping should be earned and not given freely only because some individuals feel we should dig into our pockets every time we sit at the table. Mind you in Vegas it seems that it's common practice to go around heavyly tipping everyone. I was tipping taxis at 15% and one of them gave me the cold shoulder. Restaurant waiters expect 20% and maybe your dealer forgot where he was. Next time a dealer comes up with sour remarks about the tips he gets you could suggest to find a job as a cab driver. Then pick up your chips and walk.
