Dear Cyrus:
You're entitled to your opinion. If you want to play the 2 like a 5 or 6, that's you're right. However, when my money's on the line, I do better NOT.
Your theory on peeking at the burn card is interesting, and, once again, if it works for you, fine. It doesn't make sense to me, however, that knowing one card will enable you to change your whole strategy, nor do I believe anyone can see that burn card very often, unless the dealer is green. Pardon me for disagreeing, but I can't see that as a realistic strategy.
Re-read Lawrence Revere's book "Playing Blackjack As A Business," if you want to see early evidence of what I am saying. There are one or two charts that speak volumes about the 2 and the 7, among other cards. Also, I see by an excerpt of David Sklansky's new book that he seems to agree with me on playing the two in negative card count situations. You should read that excerpt.
