I have experimented with negative progressions and know that the killer losing streak will wipe you out. But I am still curious about the positive progression. I stopped counting a number of years ago. Too small a bankroll, got a headache after several hours, whatever, it just wasn't working for me. Now I play a money management game that dictates being conservative when even or behind and picking a time to press my bet when ahead. Some will call it voodoo, but it is really more like a probing style. If I can find a way to stay near that even mark, I'll get several opportunities during many hours to go for it. You get knocked back down most of the time, but eventually you'll get a streak right when you have pressed your bet and you can leave a winner. However, many times I look back at a shoe just played and realize that if I had been steadily increasing my bet, I would have won a considerable amount. Thats why I am interested in ideas on positive progressions. I retain some card counting thoughts that are part of my game. If at a full table and the table is covered with 10 cards, I may hesitate doubling on 11 against the dealer's 10. In the same situation but the dealer has a small card, I'll tell the table that the dealer is going to draw out and beat us and am usually right.
