I agree Gehrig, some casinos have tried to do away with blackjack altogether and failed. Grand Casinos (Park Place) once installed two $1-$10 electronic blackjack machines at all of their Miss. properties. They were large, comfortable, sit down tables with six positions. Each one was a based on single deck with shuffle after each round. They took away that fear some have of sitting at the real tables and of course, any confrontations with normal humans.
Anyway, those machines gone now, replaced with slot machines.(I wonder why?) Allmost every person you see sitting at a slot is accompanied by someone else who's either at the crap table or playing blackjack.
Casino's will continue to try every trick where they can (and they should) but blackjack is here to stay.
