Which locales are "more legal" for net gambling??

"More legal" net gambling locales?

I seem to be a good poker player and am wondering if there may be some simple steps to avoid legal problems if I start winning consistently on the Internet. I have read articles and even spoken to a local lawyer--and the general impression is that no one really knows "how legal" it is--the good news that if you simply "don't admit you do it" you probably won't be bothered--at least not under present laws.

But then what if I have money going steadily into a local bank account from an offshore Internet poker site--is that not evidence?

I do not want to get into a big debate about "is Internet gambling legal." What I want is practical information, i.e.: "What are the states & countries in which Internet gambling DEFINATELY IS legal?" (I mean legal FOR THE PLAYER. Whether it is legal to have an Internet casino there is of course quite a different issue.)

I do move around a bit, and I am wondering if there is some state or country where Internet gambling IS DEFINATELY legal, because I figure that is the best place for my bank account. (Canada? Scottland? Italy? Switzerland? Nevada? New Jersey?) "Technically" this may not give me any legal protection if I am logging-on from somewhere that it is possibly "less than clearly legal"--but I do believe it will make it much less convenient for me to be singled-out or harassed. So to repeat my question: "What are the states & countries in which Internet gambling IS DEFINATELY LEGAL for the player?"

Anyone who can direct me to information sources--or perhaps to correct my reasoning if you think I am wrong--please respond and thanks very much.
