supervision i want. my friends in the business, except for a few counting dealers, are not aware that i play 21 for more than amusement. the only way i have been able to play unemcumbered with the usual heat and 86's, is to be extremely low key. when friends come to town and i must guide them about, i'll only play 21 on low buck, flat basic strategy, situations and offer no advice. if i can't play in those games to win, at least i'll gain a mot of cover. to that end, a "performance" for the benefit of another player is a losing game. that "play" is not lost on pit game supervision. someday i'll relate an interesting story about the opening day at a new joint. i joined a game within 15 minutes of the joint's opening. one other player was seated; i spotted him as a counter in <4 minutes. so had the 3-4
pitstiffs. he was booted, no doubt a world record vis a vis relative to the joint's opening. i stuck around to grind out $135, got a business card, player's card under a name, returned later in the day for the deluxe meal (after the restaurants were open for business). were i playing so as to impress someone, like as not, i'd have gotten that boot, not the buffet.
if you want to watch counters, hang around mirage resorts properties. they usually show up on weekends.
