Good post, you hit the nail on the head. All of the people I personnally know, play BJ not with the expectations of quitting their day jobs, just to pursue an avenue of adding to their salary.
I for one think that it's the second best part-time career I've ever had.
Herpetology takes many hours of travel and it quick to high your patience. As a full time Computer Analyst, I find that it very challenge is part of my enjoyment. Not to mention the free meals, cash vouchers, shows, and logo shop gift certificates I receive from casinos.
I've met some very sharp people playing BJ that I wouldn't never have the pleasure of. Doctors, lawyers, contractors of all sorts, and business owners who have met challenges in their fields and expect more of life. I even had the pleasure of playing with millionaires who like the challenge. I wouldn't make a career change now and probably wouldn't in the near future, but I like the person I have become with the overall experiences recieved from playings over the last five years.
