I would recommend to the original poster a "quarter-deck" precision in calculating TC

I've never particularly cared for this advice. What if there is 1/3 of a deck remaining? I say just estimate it as best you can without following some arbitrary rule. Of course with more than 2 decks there's not much point trying to be more exact than 1/2 decks.
