Day 2

Posted by Miss Rich on 28 September 2000, at 8:38 a.m.

Day 2
Ha, ha, ha I lost.
That is a pile of ‘ammo?for the vultures!

I had spent the last couple of days building a waterfall for the swimming pool.
Now, if you don’t have a pool, you maybe thinking, ‘Wow, a pool as well as a waterfall?and if you already have one, you will be thinking ‘Big deal?
To me it is just a hole in the ground full of water where you can cool down when it’s hot.
As for the waterfall, well it is just the noise of running water that I am aiming for, just to add a little relaxation into my surroundings.
Having lifted heavy rocks for 2 days, and mixed bag after bag of mortar, I decided that I needed a break and where better for that than the casino.
Off we went, late afternoon on Sunday, usually a busy time.
On arrival, I wasn’t wrong, with crowds around all the tables about 2 deep.
We had a couple of drinks first and then it was time to play.
Again, we were to hit a target which is half of our playing bank.
I suppose you could look at it as a 2 to 1 situation, where if you lose one playing session you have to win two.
The boffins will also believe that if you win two then you can be quite certain that you will lose the third or at least over a period a third of your plays will result in a loss, maybe even worse.
So, I have proven things on paper, I have played a vast amount of games and I am way out in front so far as banks are concerned, a couple of losses should not be too much of a problem.
The play started well with some early wins, and we were getting very close to our finishing point, and then we had a couple of dry runs.
During this period, an old lady, about 80 years of age, sat next to me and asked me to put a $5 chip on 22/25 split.
I obliged, and she said she couldn’t see the numbers because they had all worn away.
This table covering was almost brand new, so her glasses must not have been in too good condition, though I didn’t tell her that.
Fist spin, she got it!
Here is the tip of the week!
She said that when you see a 5 come out always bet 22/25???
I love these bits of advice, and they could drive someone, somewhere to ruin, ha, ha, ha.
I don’t know what else she played, as my concentration went back to my game play, and I think she must have left the table soon after.
Unfortunately the results weren’t going my way, and the bank was taking a bit of knocking.
There are only a few occurrences that can damage my progress and unfortunately one of these was occurring.
My play just never recovered and the slow decline eventually made me pass my maximum limit and play ceased after about four and a half hours of play.
What a start to the diary, I was going to finish as soon as I had met one loss, but that would now be a little sudden and would pass on the victory to the ‘stay at home boffins?
My 2 friends playing on 2 other tables made their target within 1 hour and 3 hours of play, at the same time, but that isn’t part of my challenge and is no compensation.
So now I am one bank down plus the half bank win form the first day, so I will have to win at least the next 3 trips to the casino, to get back some credibility, lets see what happens
