Taco Bell moves into Pepsico buyout. 1985 Nuclear Non-proliferation Extension Treaty. Taco Bell slumps. 1998 India, Pakistan trade tests. Taco Bell brings out the Chihuahua.

Find a conditon that is usually imenently deadly but you have personal factors that make recovery certain.

The first US h-bombs were huge cryogenic tanks of tritium setoff into fusion by a plutonium A-bomb. The Russians, under Sakarov, first, and first with any such device, came up with the idea of instead using lithium and boron, in a styrofoam slurry, where the initial nuetron burst would convert these elements to Helium 3 and Tritium hydrogen. Problem: during the time the B and L fissioned into Hl 3 and T, the blast was cooling to just above fusion limits. Some of the conversion depended upon the initial fusion neutrons to convert the rest of the B and L, while the materials were begining to disperse during the explosion "catching hold." Thus anything involving fusion, in the initial soviet designs, had to be huge: at least 500 kilo-tons. Ulam and Teller came up with the "sparkplug sustainer" solution. Uranium with the U235 removed will NOT support chain reactions, but WILL fission. With such, now commonly known as depleted uranium, the neutron stream relights the temperatures, due to secondary fission, at about the same time the Hl and L converts.
The first neutron bombs were designed to reduce the initial fallout by making the fission trigger as small as possible, when 1961 studies showed that the spark plug sustainer and B and L only needed an initial high neutron stream to produce fusion.
That design called the Crocket type trigger used a pre-assembled critical mass with an explosively discharged cadmium damping rod. The initial explosion was designed to be off center and produced only large debris that would be left...Those were the first N-bombs.
In 1958 came the British studies on muon catalysis fusion, that showed direct fusion was possible, using either radon, or normally non radioactive irridium (194), heated to vaporization, in a strong magnetic field as the muon source. In 1974 two high school students studying parallels between the mysterious but constant error in Wheeler's Gravity antenna studies, about .5939 Hz, discovered a similar delay in the muon discharge for I and Rd. These smart asses decided to get cute with the authorities and got an amazing job offer. That is esentially all the famous W-88 warhead is...
