Typos always haunt me!

That was supposed to be "intimidated"!
Beck has talked about it in interviews. Now, he always groans when it is brought up, as though he now wishes he hadn't divulged it. He's caught flack from some of Hendrix' fans over it.
They were good friends, and couple of times, backstage before one of JB's gigs, he asked Jimi to come out and jam with on a couple of songs. Jimi's response was sort of "No way am I gonna take you on, man!"
For what its worth.

P.S. (If Jimi had gone for it, can you imagine what a bootleg tape of Jeff beck and Jimi Hendrix playing LIVE together would be worth today?)
