Re: When were you in Beirut?

Great city, cosmopolitan. I studied there in the American University. Great night life in its heydays- casino, nightclubs, strip, music, great hotels and a good mix of west and east... before the big troubles marred it all. I've been to Istamboul few times myself... They have great food. Went to Boyuk Ada (Island) by boat. Drove by car from Beirut to London on one of my adventure trips wandering around in Europe- great times in Bulgaria... Adventures in Yougoslavia Belgrade, Dubrovnik, etc., and Hungary all when under communist regimes. Then, Greece, Austria, Italy, France and England- for scholarship.
You seem to be very well travelled. What took you in those parts of the world? Turkei could be a bit too hardy to western tourists... I even know some turkish... I was in a nightclub in Adana once... for fun (drinks only) with the club girls.
